The Fourth Edition of the Rain Reader RPG is now available. 

This version features yet another revision of the rulebook to refine and clarify its writing.

Additionally, most of the primary mechanics have been reworked or rebalanced:

- Affinity rolls are now made with a twelve-sided die.

- Harmful Humour imbalances are now lost by activating them on demand in the same manner as helpful imbalances. While an imbalance is held, acquiring a different one in the same category no longer overwrites the former; acquiring an imbalance in the opposite category will cancel both out.

- A six-sided die is rolled to determine which Humour imbalance a Moonborne acquires when such is to occur.

- The Instrumental Affinities of Technical Tampering, Lunar Logic and History Hoarding have been consolidated into a single information centric Affinity called Knowledge Known.

- Magic gain no longer occurs from certain dice roll results. Moonborne can now invest their starting degrees in Ethereal Affinities. Magic drain on successful magic actions now only reduces the used Affinity by two degrees. No drain occurs when failing a magic roll, but reattempts will incur an increase of one magic drain if the retried action does eventually succeed. When a Moonborne sleeps, their Ethereal Affinities are realigned to their post-allocation levels.

- Most Moonborne traits have been reworked, rebalanced and simplified. Several new Behavioural quirks have been added.

- Sea Sovereigns cards are now randomly generated with eight and twenty-sided dice rolls at the start of each stage, rather than being acquired and chosen by players beforehand. Several Sea Sovereigns cards have been removed, added and rebalanced.

- Serious conflicts between Moonborne are now decided through Scrimmages, in which participants use the power of dance to demoralize opponents and prove their will to the Moon. A new graphic has been added which may act as the playing field during Scrimmages.

- The approximate pronunciation of Moonborne names is now outlined beside those names, and a possible short-form has been provided.

- A new section has been added which summarizes the fundamental roles that players will have in the game, and the full process of creating a Moonborne character.
